Shipping Policies

The Ellijay Cigar Lounge is committed to complying with all federal, state, and local laws. Accordingly, the following shipping policies are in effect.

We Do Not Ship to States Which Require Us To Collect Excise Tax

The following states require retailers such as us to collect and pay an excise tax in order to ship tobacco products into their jurisdictions. In some cases, this excise tax rate is as high as 75%. As a small, family-owned business, it is beyond our scope to effectively collect these taxes from our customers and/or to file those taxes to each respective state. Accordingly, The Ellijay Cigar Lounge has chosen not to ship orders to the following states:

  1. Colorado

  2. Indiana

  3. Maine

  4. Maryland

  5. Michigan

  6. Nevada

  7. North Carolina

  8. South Dakota

  9. Wisconsin

State-By-State Restrictions

The Ellijay Cigar Lounge has adopted the following state-specific shipping policies in order to adhere to legal codes and tax policies.

California: While we require all purchasers to be over 21 years of age, California’s Senate Bill 39 requires us to:

• Confirm your delivery of tobacco products by telephone call after 5PM (PT) the day prior to shipment
• Obtain the signature of a person 21 years of age or order before completing the delivery. (Note, in order to comply with this restriction, we are unable to ship to a PO Box or offer certain shipping methods to California).

Connecticut: Due to Connecticut State Regulations, we do not ship small cigars (weighing 3lb per 1000 or less) to Connecticut addresses.

Delaware: We do not ship any products to Delaware addresses.

Hawaii: Due to Hawaii State Regulations, we do not ship any products to Hawaii addresses.

Massachusetts: Due to Massachusetts State Regulations, we do not ship any Flavored Tobacco products to Massachusetts addresses.

Pennsylvania: Due to Pennsylvania State Regulations, we do not ship Small Cigars (Weighing 4lb per 1000 or less) in carton packs, containing 20 to 25 sticks per pack, or Pipe Tobacco (loose leaf tobacco) to Pennsylvania addresses.

Utah: Due to Utah State Regulations, we do not ship any products to Utah addresses.

Vermont: Due to Vermont State Regulations, we do not ship Small Cigars (Weighing 4.5lb per 1000 or less) to Vermont addresses.

Washington: Due to Washington State regulations, we so not ship Small Cigars (Weighing 3lb per 1000 or less) to Washington addresses.

The Ellijay Cigar Lounge reserves the right to modify these policies at any time. It is the responsibility of each customer to comply with these policies while placing his/her orders with The Ellijay Cigar Lounge. The Ellijay Cigar Lounge will cancel and refund any online order which does not fully comply with the policies stated above.
